A journalist and writer, he is the founder and editor of Ambiental, a contributing editor at InfoAmazonia and a freelance writer for National Geographic Brasil, where he previously worked as an editor (2001-2013). A fellow at the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ, 2015), a graduate in Entrepreneurial Journalism from the City University of New York (Cuny, 2016) and a panelist at two sessions of the World Conference of Science Journalism (WCSJ, 2017). Medaglia is currently a fellow in the Knight Science Journalism Program at MIT (KSJ-MIT, 2019-2020).
Photographer and Web Developer
Works with photography, video and web development, focusing on journalistic content. Conservation International (CI) project partner. Forner published his work on The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, National Geographic, The Guardian, Dagens Nyheter and Deutsche Welle, and has also collaborated with TV Cultura, BBC and Al Jazeera. In 2010, he was awarded the Society for News Design.
An advertising professional with a Bachelor’s degree from Cásper Líbero College, he has actively participated in the dissemination of projects and in the relationship with the community of followers of Ambiental. A copywriter and screenwriter, he has executed special projects of proprietary content for companies and institutions.
Journalist focusing on environmental and scientific issues. She is the creator and author of the blog Sustenta Ações as well as a reporter for Ambiental Media. Her work has appeared in several outlets, including Mongabay, National Geographic, Projeto Colabora, and Conexão Planeta. She is also the editor of Um Só Planeta newsletter, a Brazilian editorial movement aimed at impactful solutions to the climate crisis.
A current manager at JOTA, where she helps the media team come up with amazing ideas, Paty previously spent time in Silicon Valley developing interactive journalism projects at EdSurge. She has a master’s degree in Media, Strategy and Leadership from Northwestern University, where she worked with a grant from the Ling Institute. She was a member of the team that launched Porvir and is a former copywriter, reporter and education editor at Folha de S. Paulo.
A journalist with a master’s in Environmental Policy from King’s College London, he worked as a reporter and Brasilia correspondent for the financial newspaper Valor Econômico, as well as editor and executive director of O Eco. Twice awarded with a Knight grant from the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), he currently coordinates InfoAmazonia and teaches digital journalism at Emerson College.
A journalist and strategic design and digital media consultant, Adriana is the current Director of Operations at Projor – Institute for the Development of Journalism in Brazil. She holds a master’s degree from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (USP) and was a J. S. Knight fellow at Stanford University (2012/2013). She has worked as a reporter, editor and international correspondent for such media outlets as Reuters, Folha de S. Paulo, Veja São Paulo and Exame. She was also Director of Digital Communication for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. She is the founder of Orbital Mídia, a group that promotes innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship in journalism through startup and Design Thinking methodologies.
